She sweated in the air conditioned room. I wonder if anyone noticed that. It meant a lot to her. Not that it was important, but because she had put in so many efforts she really wanted it to go well! The conference room didn't have too many members. The light from the projector hurt her eyes.
"You still don't have the awareness and moves of an expert", she thought to herself, "your moves on the stage should be graceful and confident!" she made a mental note to work on this.
Chin held up high, she started to give her presentation. Her voice surprised her. She remembered a training where she was taught that during a presentation your voice should come from your stomach. She was gifted with that. She didn't need to make too many efforts.
She tried to read the expressions of her audience. Some listening, some judging her work while the others simply judging her!
She went ahead slide by slide. Confidence increased. Ouch! There came the first question! Christ! She listened carefully. She answered. Confidence shooted up!

Manipulative Managers!
Do you think managers are manipulative? They know how to bend ones thought process the way they want to?

Unprofessional
5 things I wish I could do but don't because they are "unprofessional" :
1) Send hate mails.
2) Scratch your head while talking.
3) Spit in the eye of the one tormenting you.
4) Wear yellow nailpaint.
5) Use the three magical words - "Go to hell!".
PS : Ordered in ascending order of priority, the first one being the highest.

Happy To Be At Work!
The sun shone with a loud, happy laughter filled with energy. A usual morning with it's most unusual pride and spirit geared up. When I woke up, the ladies had already painted the mesmerizing rangoli with white powder outside their homes. The geometric designs with perfect symmetry managed to steal my attention as always! I looked around to find people bustling with energy to get to work. A kid in the opposite balcony, with half closed eyes, sleepily brushed his teeth. He looked cute!
The roads were buzzing with corporate workers with their i-cards around their necks in pride. Vehicles crawled all over the place hurriedly. I waited for mine. The usual beep at the office entrance and my favorite coffee machine were ready as usual to greet me. The busy passages, the intellectual conversations, the elite appearences, all was just right.
"Everything is in place", I thought to myself. Silently, I said a prayer, "It feels good to be at work!"
P.S. : This space deserved a happy post after all the weeping and 'tear-shedding'.

Life-Phase Two-Peak 1-Cubicle No. S4
After every fall is a rise, I just pray that vice versa isn't true! I'm "happy". Touch wood. I don't remember the last time I felt happy. I feel useful these days. It's strange how life changes. It's strange how one's definition of home changes. It's strange how one learns to love. God's plans are beyond my understanding and it's strange that yet I have full faith in them.
There is new spark in life, a strange reason to live for, an unknown way to a known treasure, a new world waiting to be found, secretly winking at me and saying "Come, come here and find me, live me"! Lets hope this zeal takes me all the way, all the way to eternity! I'm wanna live, live some more, allow me to live!!

Pink and gray.
Rose pink and dull gray color make a good combination together. That's all I have to say right now :p
Bye.
PS: When I feel sleepy in office(which is all the time) I play a game. This is how it's played. Close your eyes (by doing that you get to sleep for a few seconds) and press the "Insert" key on the keyboard random number of times.Don't count the number of times you press the key. Then type a sentence (this part of the game might just awaken any speck of creativity in you). Then go to the middle of any word of the sentence and stop and think (this part will make you think you're doing something important). Then take a guess whether the insert is functioning as insert or uninsert( please forgive me for the foolish terminology). Then quicky press any letter on the keyboard (this will make you feel you're working on a real time project). Then see if the letter eats the letter after it or gets inserted in between. Match this result to your answer. If you are right you might feel important if you are wrong redo proceedure till you feel important or till it's time to go home, whichever is sooner. All the best.
NOTE: This game can be made more interesting by betting on the answer, keeping time limits, giving 3 chances to yourself, wearing a jeresy for the game etc etc.

Want to go to Nowhere!
"Will you come with me to Nehru Planatoriam?", my friend on the desk next to mine squeeked to me.
"Yes", I answered without the least excitement of being invited.
My eyes strained to sleep but the brain slapped me awake. Office is more sleepy today than ever! Sometimes you just cannot leave home at home and come to office. Thoughts and memories of friends lingered on my sleepy head. I knew that I've slept late last night. Now, however, I realized it must've been very late!! My target of 13 solutions seems like a mammoth task today. My eyes continue to wrestle to fall shut but I manage to keep them open. I wish I could run away, to a place where no one can trace me down,to a place where no one knows me!
The funniest things about offices is that everyone keeps working all the time!!

Hello?
Like every other day since I have been discharged from the hospital even today I searched the Internet for any, any software job in town. I made a phone call to a “Government company”, as they call it, named BPCL. Surprisingly, even after making several calls to various companies and being turned down I still felt nervous to make my call.
98**15*8*2
K. Ravi chief manager HR.
I stared at the green screen of my cell phone where I had his no. stored. I repeated the name thrice over and over again in my head. After a lapse of 5 seconds I could scrape out some courage from the dried brain muscle that once narrated brave stories. I picked the phone close to my body and rested it gently on my lap as if K. Ravi lived in it! In one part of my head I revised what I was going to tell the man while in some other mischievous part I wondered what the K. stood for if Ravi was his first name. I tried to shake of the unrelated thoughts from my head. The chief manager HR portion of the text made that little butterfly in my stomach flutter around with a frivolously casual manner, which made me shudder. I penned down the facts that I had to present to him in maybe less then 30 seconds. This is an art one learns after making several calls to busy (sometimes disinterested) people and say everything in one breath before the listener interrupts! If I keep modesty aside for a moment I can say I have quite mastered that art! Its not as easy as it sounds, you have to sound polite and make sure you don’t push too far to irritate the listener and most of all sound useful!!
I bravely punched the 10 digits on the phone and thought to myself “what am I to loose anyways?” The caller tune was an amazing “ommmm” followed by some Sanskrit shlok that didn’t make much sense to me but made me feel comfortable!! I secretly wished he never answers the phone and this chant keeps playing forever. Suddenly a voice sounded on the other side “Halo?” It sounded more like a question rather than a greeting. I was struck by the lack of professionalism in his voice. Subconsciously I had expected a polished voice with the right ingredients of politeness, hurriedness and authority in the right proportion after making calls to the MNC’s. However, now I felt as if I had called a distant uncle to ask him how things were going.
“Is this Mr. Ravi?” I decided to avoid the K. in his name.
“Yes. Speaking.” Said uncle.
“Sir, can I have a minute from you?” I asked quickly because I had rehearsed this line several times before making the call.
“Regarding what?” he actually meant yes you can blabber ahead but it seems he wasn’t trained enough to say the right words.
I did what I do best these days and gave him just the right information he might need about me to consider me as a part of his firm. I might have taken around 15 seconds and that relieved me as it was quite under the minute that I was granted.
“no..no right now toh there are no jobs..we..we take campus no..its over right now so right now no jobs..we take only campus”
I almost felt pity for the man and realized that he had all the time for me. He repeated the same things over and over.
“Okay, thank you sir” I said in the most polite and warm tone I could speak in.
Just when I was about to hang p the voice emerged again saying, “Who gave you my reference?”
This time the voice did not stammer. There was a sudden authority in his voice and it reminded me of the ticket checkers at the railway stations.
“ I got your number from a friend who works at BPCL” I said in a subdued manner after his outburst.
“haan?” He repeated with the same tinge of lack of professionalism.
I repeated my answer with the exact words as if I had copy pasted them from my conversation.
“Oh, okay” he said in a pitiful tone.
“Thank you sir.” Were the last words I said before the conversation ended.
I wonder if he could have created a vacancy for me had I got a strong reference. His words “Oh, okay” play in my head. It’s not important, I know it’s not, but it does exist!!
Anyway tomorrow is a new day, a new opportunity a new phone call!!
